11:30 a.m.

Dress- a- Lady demonstration.  {At the Gualala Community Center} An 18th Century Lady is dressed by her maid.   This is about a 30-45 minute presentation that illustrates all that is involved with dressing a lady in the 18th century.  The woman begins standing on stage clad only in a shift (a kind of night shirt)  She is then attended by her mistress to be dressed.  Foundation upon foundation, layer upon layer, lacing, tying, pinning and finally stitching into the garments in order to go out amongst the public for the day. There is Q&A audience interaction with this presentation.

{Inside event, limited tickets, first come, first serve. $5.00 per ticket}

12:00 Noon

Anatomy of a Revolutionary Battle. {At the Gualala Community Center} The Continentals vs. The Redcoats.  This 30 minute display illustrates the logic behind linear warfare tactics of the era.  While it appears ridiculous to stand in tight ranks lobbing gun fire at one another, it demonstrates the short comings of the weaponry -all grossly inaccurate.  Concentration of fire is the watch word.  Just as today; there is strength in numbers and cohesion.
Warning: loud noises!

12:30 p.m.

18th  Century Fashion Show. {At the Gualala Community Center} This 30 minute event explores the various aspects of how every bit as much attention was paid to the appropriate manner of dress as there is today.  You wouldn't wear a tux to the Laundromat, you'd never wear a gown to work at a field hospital, etc. {Benefits: Soroptimists Intl. of Sonoma-Mendocino Coast} {Inside event, limited tickets, first come, first serve. $5.00 per ticket}

1:30 p.m.

British Troops commence arrests, detentions, and questioning of local inhabitants throughout the town. The Innkeeper of The Gualala Hotel is accosted.  Town Fathers (and Mothers) are rounded up and addressed. Loyalty Oaths are demanded along with details about munitions, stores of goods and whereabouts of known rebels.  Suspected heretics and insurgents are arrested and detained at the jail located on the front porch of The Gualala Hotel.  British Guard is present for Settlement of Bail.

{Inside event, limited tickets, first come, first serve. $5.00 per ticket}

Artillery demo & Taptoo.  {At the Brigade encampment} Yes, that's how it's spelled  (we now call it a tatoo, just like the clerk we refer to today was referred to as a Clarke in the 18th century.).  It was a certain drum beat that signaled the conclusion of the day's activities, and the closing and guarding of the town until Reveille at dawn.
