The Gualala Patriot Days Trolley will transport paid event ticket holders from designated event parking lots to activity areas in Downtown Gualala. Locations of daytime activities & events are a pleasant walk within town, (see map). The Trolley will run both days during scheduled event periods. |

18th Century Flag Ceremony {At the Brigade encampment} Town Crier dispatched to announce News of the Day |

Artillery demonstrations. {Behind
the Surf Supermarket} This demonstration
and discussion focuses on how the weapon is
loaded, fired, cleaned, moved, cared for, employed on the battle
field, etc. |

11:00 a.m. |
The British declare the Town of Gualala occupied and declare Martial law! {at the Gualala Hotel} Dunsmore’s and Ferguson’s Proclamations are read and posted. The Gualala Hotel falls to the British! The Union Jacks are hung and British Headquarters is set up. |

11:30 a.m. |
Dress- a- Lady demonstration. {At the
Gualala Community Center} An
18th Century Lady is dressed by her maid. This is about a
30-45 minute presentation that illustrates all that is involved with
dressing a lady in the 18th century. The woman begins standing on
stage clad only in a shift (a kind of night shirt) She is then
attended by her mistress to be dressed. Foundation upon foundation,
layer upon layer, lacing, tying, pinning and finally stitching into
the garments in order to go out amongst the public for the
day. There is Q&A audience interaction
with this presentation. |

Anatomy of a Revolutionary Battle. {At
the Gualala Community Center} The
Continentals vs. The Redcoats. This 30 minute display
illustrates the logic behind linear warfare tactics of the era.
While it appears ridiculous to stand in tight ranks lobbing gun fire
at one another, it demonstrates the short comings of the weaponry
-all grossly inaccurate. Concentration of fire is the watch
word. Just as today; there is strength in numbers and cohesion. |

18th Century Fashion Show. {At the Gualala Community Center} This 30 minute event explores the various aspects of how every bit as much attention was paid to the appropriate manner of dress as there is today. You wouldn't wear a tux to the Laundromat, you'd never wear a gown to work at a field hospital, etc. {Benefits: Soroptimists Intl. of Sonoma-Mendocino Coast} {Inside event, limited tickets, first come, first serve. $5.00 per ticket} |

1:30 p.m. |
British
Troops commence arrests, detentions, and questioning of local
inhabitants throughout the town. The Innkeeper of The Gualala Hotel is accosted. Town
Fathers (and Mothers) are rounded up and addressed. Loyalty Oaths
are demanded along with details about munitions, stores of goods and
whereabouts of known rebels. Suspected heretics and insurgents are
arrested and detained at the jail located on the front porch of
The Gualala Hotel. British Guard is
present for Settlement of Bail. |

2:00 p.m. |
18th Century High Tea & Narration of the Times. {At
the Gualala Community Center}
A presentation designed to convey the frantic nature of
things in colonies at the time of the Boston Tea Party and its'
impact on the colonist of the era. This is presented as if one were
watching a movie, events unfold during narration. {Benefits: Gualala Rotary Club} |
| 2:30 p.m. | What was the function of a horseman? {Across the street from the Brigade encampment} This 15 minute demonstration illustrates the use of horses in day to day life in the colonies and on the field of battle. |

3:00 p.m. |
British Recruiting Party. {Behind the Seacliff Center} A presentation that illustrates to the public the attraction of, need for, and procedures employed to acquire troops for the empire. A completely interactive event involving children to be taken up in the service of their KING! Replica coins, and forms such as Loyalty Oaths are given to the likely recruits. Very fun and educational. Q&A is included in this. |

4:30 p.m. |
Artillery demo & Taptoo. {At the
Brigade encampment} Yes, that's
how it's spelled (we now call it a tatoo, just like the clerk
we refer to today was referred to as a Clarke in the 18th century.).
It was a certain drum beat that signaled the conclusion of the day's
activities, and the closing and guarding of the town until Reveille
at dawn. |

Closing Flag Ceremony {At the Brigade encampment}. Lowering of Flag and close of Daytime Activities. Town Crier continues the News of the Evening. |

6:00 p.m. to 7:30 |
18th Century Supper at The King’s Arms Tavern {At the
Gualala Arts Center}. The Alehouse opens at 6:00 p.m., followed by
Supper in the Main Hall. Period Dishes prepared by the Culinary Arts
Guild from 18th Century recipes. Followed by Gambling &
Storytelling. Invitation &
Menu.

Various firing & camp demos.
In camp throughout the weekend. Small
presentations and vignettes lasting 5 -10 minutes, showing how the
musket of the 18th century actually operates and discharges.
Other demos to include food ration displays, cleaning and
maintenance of camp life. Very interactive, all Q&A, up close
and personal one on one with the public.

| 10:30 a.m. | 18th Century Divine Services. {At the Brigade encampment} A fancy way to say church, about 20 minutes. Episcopalian was the OFFICIAL religion of the crown at this time. The troops are formed up in a square with officers and serjeants at the rear to discourage any escapees. |
| 11:00 a.m. | Establish
American continental presence {At the Cypress Village}
Continental Soldiers chase off Redcoat contingent. Those jailed at
The Gualala Hotel are
freed! Warning: loud noises!

| 12:00 noon | Reading of The Declaration of Independence by Jer Skibbins....a Sea Ranch Patriot. {At the Gualala Hotel} |
| 12:30 p.m. | YZ Cooper.
{At the Cypress Village} A first person narrative, 20 minutes, about a colonist that took
up arms against the crown, presented as a catalyst for touching
off the big battle about to occur. YZ will be describing the
virtues of having a rifle as opposed to a smooth bore musket (a
rifle having grooves cut inside the barrel in order to assist
the ball staying true and on target greatly improving
accuracy). He demonstrates by picking off a British Sentry at a
distance which results in calling out the guard, and commencing
the big "Battle of Gualala Wood." Warning: loud noises! |
| 1:30 p.m. | Reminder by the British to the Citizens of the Town of Gualala of consequences to inhabitants of seditious talk and ambushes. |
| 2:00 p.m. | Battle of Gualala Wood!
{Behind RCMS} Redcoats assemble for a final engagement to drive Americans from
the area. Bring up artillery; begin exchange generating 30-
minute running battle with Continentals, Indians, Redcoats and
riflemen. Narration on Sound System throughout action.

| 3:00 p.m. | British re-form ranks and relinquish the Town of Gualala. {At the Gualala Hotel} Continental Troops take control; British Ceremony of Surrender follows. British loyalists recant their loyalty to King George and swear allegiance to America - Lowering of British Flag and Raising of American Revolutionary War Era Flag. |
